SAT/ACT Private Tutoring - Reading & Writing Section(s) Only

Here’s the thing with the SAT….

In some ways, the SAT is just another test. The reading section calls upon students to use literacy skills they have been practicing throughout their educational journey. The additional challenge is in specifics - the section timing, the question details, and the mental game because, in other ways, the SAT is NOT just another test. There’s a lot more pressure. At StudySesh, we are big believers in setting measurable goals, intentionally sharpening skills, and building confidence so students can trust themselves as they answer the questions. Being able to do so lightens the mental load and frees the brain to think more clearly, resulting in better performance.

What We Work On:

• Reading comprehension strategies heavily tested on SAT/ACT

• Grammar skills, including subject/verb agreement, verb tenses, punctuation, run-on sentences and fragments, rhetorical skills, and more

• General test-taking strategies, testing timing, creating a mental edge

• ACT: Production of Writing, Knowledge of Language, Conventions of Standard English

• SAT: Information and Ideas, Craft and Structure, Expression of Ideas, Standard Conventions of English

What We Provide:

• A binder to organize all materials used in our sessions

• Educational materials to help students master content (as needed)

• Text message summaries of session highlights to parents or caregivers after each meeting

• SAT or ACT guidebook (extra charge)
